nagoya update 2
well its hard to update here cuz time and internet are not always available but never the less here's some stuff. it's extremely hot, extremely hot, its about 90 degrees with like 90% humidity. right now im in the cool room, only one with an air conditioner. today jinushi san's son showed me around town, how to get to the bus stop and such. it was interesting to have such a young person show me around, oh he's nine, and he knows his way around town, on the bus and such.
[ this is outside of tomoko's house, actually its some kind of apartment, we're on the third floor ]
[ these are the sewers in nagoya, different from tokyo, these are basically just open drainage lines covered with these cement bricks ]
[ as you can see nagoya subway is much less crowded, often their is more people, but this is not uncommon in later morning for example ]
[ this is under the downtown area, its a large complex of stores, resturants, and such. its a nice place to be able to go on super hot days ]
[ i dont know who this dude is, but hes in a TON of ads here ]
[ the doors from the underground shopping center up to central park, its a park in the middle of the city. hence the name ]
[ this is terebi-to, or television tower ]
[ another view, its kinda like tokyo tower but gray instead of red and white. i think this one is much more elegant but also somewhat less intregeing ]
[ this is a fountain in central park and yes that is a naked woman on top, nagoya has a thing for naked women statues ]
[ there are a lot of palm trees here, actually some things here remind me almost of florida or something ]
[ name brand are very popular here in japan, the more expensive something is the cooler it must be ]
[ tokyu hands is a very famous japanese depato, department store ]
[ this docomo building, one of the japanese cell phone companies. i like it because of its big odd tower ]

[ this was a very strange find, there is this place in central park called "los angles". they have many movie stars hands print and such ]
[ there are many odd things in central park ]
[ and many homeless people, whats interesting is i heard many are homeless by choice. they make houses out of tarps and other stuff, but they arent that scarey they dont even beg ]
[ these are some government buildings i found, i think this one in particular is city hall, very interesting mix of japanese and western ]
[ this is nagoya-ko, the nagoya port. the big dome on the right is part of the nagoya aqarium, the bridge on the left connects the two sides ]

[ this is a very strange building on the other side of the bridge, i think part of it is a musuem of boats and such ]
