i just spent the weekend in kyoto, it was very cool. the temples, shrines, and gardens were all very beautiful. on the hand we stayed at a ryokan (traditional communial living hotel), which proabably wouldve been fine if it were all japanese people there. but i was with a bunch of americans who are used to doing what they want wherever they want. actually it wasnt really that big of deal but i was glad to come back to my room in tokyo.
