[ this is the newer hiroshima tram system, i liked the very modern design stations and signage. ]

[ i didnt expect to see snow... i have never seen moss and snow covering the same surface before. there were also palm trees covered in snow. ]

this is the atomic bomb dome, they simply left it after the bomb fell. altho refortified everything was left as it was, including the rubble on the ground.

[ this the atomic bomb memorial park, which is an island in the river in front of the atomic bomb dome. the monument here is actually a torch, the fire will continue to burn until all of the nuclear weapons in the world have been destroyed. ]
[ this monument was created by japan's most famous architect, kenzo tange. it provides a tunnel like view of the atomic bomb dome. ]

[ the hiroden, the hiroshima tram. similar to nagasaki's transit system. ]

miyajima is an island near the coast of hiroshima. it is situation in japan's inland sea, which the part of the ocean that comes between the main island of honshu and the smaller shikoku. the inland sea is filled with islands most of them very mountainious island. miyajima is essentially a collection of mountains with only the shore being flat, as is much of japan. the shore of island is where the shrine and town are located.

[ this is the torii gate in front of the miyajima island shrine. depending on the ocean's tide it's either on land or water, and same goes for the shrine itself. by the way if you think you've seen this before you probably have. it is one of the most famous pictures of japan you will find in magazine, tv, guide books, etc. ]

[ i never thought moss was something of beauty before coming to japan. ]

[ this is shrimp and minced fish. i guess this is the closest you can come to fish sticks in japan. only it had actual real pieces of shrimp and no breading. ]

[ me worn out in the hiroshima underground bathroom. ]

[ hiroshima is famous for its okonomiyaki. this a thin layer of fried egg on the top with vegatables, shrimp, and other seafood inside. the bottom layer is fried soba noodles. its covered with a sauce, as you like... ]
